Versie 3 van Thunderbird, de mail software van Mozilla, is uit en de eerste reacties zijn meer dan positief. Het was al lang geleden dat een mail cient niet zoveel van zichzelf had laten horen. Zelfs als de kalender functionliteit alleen beschikbaar hier na het installeren van een plugin, de nieuwe functionliteiten zijn wel interessant: berichten worden in tabs geopend, nieuwe berichten worden automatisch geindexeerd, geavanceerde zoek functionliteiten, strenge security, etc
De franse Gendarmerie, Thuderbird gebruiker, heeft zelfs meegewerkt via hun project TrustedBird.
